(1) Is it not too late to start selling LEDs when already so many distributors in the market? The LED market is still in its early years, and a range of technologies remain in competition to become the dominant force in LED bulb design. Most distributors are focused on using one technology or targeting one market sector, a choice that has left consumers with limited choice: high price, or an inferior product. PPlus believes that limiting consumers to these two options will greatly limit their interest, especially when trying to influence a switch from older technologies such as incandescent bulbs. (2) What are the strengths of a partnership with PPlus? PPlus has the technical knowledge, the manufacturer relationships in China, and a thorough understanding of the progression of the LED marketplace. Europe is at the centre of the currently accelerating trend of 'green' change, and most European countries are quick to adopt new technologies that aid this progress. The provision of LED products tailored to European markets, along with the quality that can is assured by PPlus' technical knowledgebase, will make PPlus / SP France LED products truly competitive with the current big players. (3) What are PPlus strengths compared to other (LED) trading companies? PPlus focuses on providing high quality products to market, while maintaining a high response rate to technological developments. A rapid product process from conception to distribution means that more recent technologies can be incorporated for in-store products. This will ensure more innovative products at a lower price, both factors that will immediately influence consumer interest. Other companies that are hindered by exhaustive bureaucratic procedures arrive later to market, and have far higher overheads. These competitors have a long way to go before providing LED products that are of interest to the average consumer, in a price range that makes the claim of 'incandescent alternatives' a reality. (4) What makes the PPlus product range different from/stronger than the ones from the A-brands (Philips/Osram/etc.)? A-brand companies are currently focused on providing very low quality products for decoration, at one end, and overly expensive 'hobbyist' niche market items at the other. The latter are designed using outdated technologies that perform on par with, or in many cases below, alternative technologies which prove cheaper to implement. In order to influence the switch in consumer buying from incandescent/CFL technologies to LED, PPlus believes products must be offered that are not out of reach of the average consumer. The availability of such a product will convince the consumer to replace outdated technologies house-wide, rather than put off this choice for the future.
